Our Story
I'm Odaine McNeil. When my daughter was born in 2018, I had nobody to watch her on weekends because the daycares were closed. I needed work that paid the bills and still let me be there for her.
So I started doing handyman jobs. During the week I worked, and on weekends I either brought her along or stayed home with her. A lot of people thought I wouldn't make it. I didn't even know how big this industry was until I was in it.
I didn't want to just get by, so I learned. I spent about six months at a carpentry company to learn carpentry, then did the same at a bathroom company, and kept going trade by trade. Cabinetry and drywall came the same way.
That's why Modern Design Home Improvement sticks to the work I know I do well. If we grow and bring on people with other skills, we'll offer more. Until then, I'd rather give you a great job in the trades I've mastered than take on work I can't stand behind.
